SW913 Eigg island Viking sword

Description

The hebrid archipelagos will be one of the main nordsmen base in the north of england, untils the 12th cent. They will even belong to the Norway kingdom during the 11th century. The Eigg island is part of the archipelagos, and one of the most beautiful viking sword was found there.

The blade is straight, as were the late roman ones. The hilt is made of carved bronze. The scabbard, made of wood and leather, is also decorated with carved brass brackets.

Length 96 cm, blade 79 cm, weigth 1,7 kg.
