SW556 - Prussian cuirassier sword, 1733

Description

Prussian history really begins with Frederique the Great, whose first move was to build the prussian army into a well equipped and disciplined force. This saber was designed during this time period, with a particularity : it has a two edged blade. The brass hilt and the engreaved blade show the King's symbol : FR, for Fredericus Rex, with the prussian crowned eagle.
The weaponwill be equipped in 1797 with a classical one edged blade, and will serve along during all the napoleonic wars.

Length : 115 cm, blade 99cm

× These swords and sabers are high quality copies. Blades are made of forged and tempered steel. They might not be used for fencing, though.
