SW540 Royal bodyguard's saber, 1814

Description

When Louis the 18th becomes King of France, he decides to organize his household in pretty much the same way than is brother, Louis the 16th. He thus found anew the Royal bodyguard's corps, on may 1814, 25th. The six horse companies become 4 companies only in 1815, and the corps will be suppressed by Louis-Philippe, in 1830. Our reproduction is a very rare sword to find.

Steel blade, brass hilt, leather and brass scabbard.
Length 115cm, weight 1,5kg.
