Description
Navy swords are quite shorter than the weapons used by infantry, due to the need to be able to fence at close quarters aboard a pretty crowded and cluttered ship. The weapon is made of iron and steel, the iron parts being painted black to avoid corrosion.
There was no regulatory sword during the 18th cent, and this one, may either be fitting for regular navy or... most irregular ships ! Also have a look at our VT075 baldric.
Hilt in iron, handle covered in leather, steel blade, black leather scabbard with iron brackets. All the iron parts are painted black to avoid corrosion. Length 77cm, weight 1100g.

All these weapons have steel blades, but are not intended for fencing, unless otherwise specified.
