SW447 Pirate's saber

Description

Navy swords are quite shorter than the weapons used by infantry, due to the need to be able to fence at close quarters aboard a pretty crowded and cluttered ship. Most of the time the hilt is quite protective in such weapons.

There was no regulatory sword during the 18th cent, and this one, with its shell like protections, is probably more a pirate weapon than one used by a regular navy. Also have a look at our VT075 baldric.

Hilt in iron, handle made of wood, steel blade, black leather scabbard with iron brackets. All the iron parts are painted black to avoid corrosion. Length 77cm, weight 1100g.

× All these weapons have steel blades, but are not intended for fencing, unless otherwise specified.
