SW144 Mainz Wederath Gladius

Description

Known from the middle of the first century on, the Pompeii gladius is slightly shorter than the Mainz one, and has two parallel edges. This is a very simple one - scabbard being not decorated - even if the wooden hilt is engraved.

Scabbard made of wood, red leather and brass. Covered with two tinned embossed plates. Grip made of wood and bone. 70cm long (blade 50cm). Weight 800g.

× All these weapons have steel or bronze blades, but are not intended for fencing, unless otherwise specified.
