Description
Made after an artifact preserved at the Royal Armouries in London and dated to 1480, this hand-and-a-half sword is typical of the German Gothic style of the late 15th century. It is not the only example, however, to feature the vegetal and twisted decorations symbolizing the forest, which were highly fashionable at the time throughout the Holy Roman Empire, and not only on weapons.
Well balanced and comfortable to handle, this sword is forged from excellent-quality steel, with brass fittings on the hilt, as on the original. Its wooden scabbard, covered in leather, also features Gothic decoration.
Total sword length: 109 cm, including an 88 cm blade. Total weight: 1.05 kg. Blade made of C60 carbon steel. Brass pommel and guard. Wooden scabbard covered in leather and decorated with brass fittings.
