Description
This uniquely shaped buckler is inspired by several illustrations from the works of Hans Talhoffer (c. 1420–1490), one of the most influential fencing masters in late medieval Germany. His surviving fencing manuscripts depict buckler designs distinct from those of the earlier tradition (the I.33 manuscript), including forms specifically designed to catch and trap an opponent’s blade.
Wielded with one hand using a central grip, this distinctive and historically grounded buckler is ideal for reenactors and HEMA practitioners.
Length 40cm, width 8cm, weigth 1,5kg.
