HL314 Chapel de fer

Description

The word “chapel” comes from Old French meaning “hat.” This is clear when looking at the shape of this helmet, which was very fashionable from the 13th to the 15th century. It leaves the face, and therefore the field of vision, completely unobstructed, making it an ideal helmet for archers. However, medieval images show that its use became widespread, even among knights, who wore it over a mail coif. This type of helmet could be painted.

Made of 1.2 mm thick steel. Opening: 21.5 x 20 cm. Leather chinstrap. Weight: approximately 1.6 kg.

× All the helmets - unless otherwise specified - come without internal padding.
