HL295 16th Closed Helmet

Description

Developed in the 16th century from the Italian armet, likely invented in Milan, this helmet is a staple of Renaissance armor. Worn exclusively by cavalrymen, the armet (literally "little helmet") is characterized by a shell topped with a crest reminiscent of burgonets. Its removable visor lowers for combat or jousting.

It features an adjustable leather inner lining to fit different head sizes, up to 63 cm (opening of 22 x 18 cm). Made of 1.2 cm thick steel, it weighs approximately 3.5 kg with its gorget.
