HL082 Deir El-Medineh roman Spangenhelm

Description

Made after the Deir El-Medineh helmet (Egypt). It is a typical Spangenhelm - helmet made of several parts rivetted together - such as the ones to be seen on the Trajan column or Galere arch. The Persian influence is clear in this helmet. If this kind of helmet appeared in the roman army during the second century, this one is usually dated from the 4 the cent.

Iron. Side to side 18cm, front to back 22cm.

× All the helmets - unless otherwise specified - come without internal padding.
