HL081 Theilenhofen infantry helmet

Description

The artefact on which this reproduction is based was found in Theilenhofen, in Germany. Along with the helmet were some coins dated from Commodus reign, the latest being a 189AD one. It is possible, though, that this kind of helmet has been in use for a long time, though. It has an iron crossed reinforcement on the hat, which appeared around Trajan's reign.

A rare example of infantry helmet of the second century AD.

Iron with brass decorative brackets. Side to side 18cm, front to back 22cm.

× All the helmets - unless otherwise specified - come without internal padding.
