AX150 Mammen axe

Description

Made after the Mammen axe, found in a Danish 10th century grave, our replica is decorated with an exquisite and intricated pattern. It depicts one side a tree, which shall either be the Christian tree of life or the pagan Yggdrasil. On the other side is an animal figure, which could either be a phoenix - the Christian revival symbol - or the rooster Gullinkambi which was posted at the top of Yggdrasil, in charge of waking the warriors in the morning, and to warn the gods of the beginning of Ragnarok.

Made in engraved steel. Wooden shaft, 41 cm. Length of the iron blade 16cm. Weight 500g.

× All these weapons have steel blades, but are not intended for fencing, unless otherwise specified.
