HL601 - Prussian cuirassier helmet,1889 type, trooper - 134€

Born under Wilhelm II, getting back to medieval helmets, the "Pickelhaube" gave the soldier a "gothic" look. The point had to protect the soldier from saber hits, by deflecting the blade. The hole allowed air to go trough the helmet.

The 2d regiment had a special plate, and the 6th one had an helmet made of brass, with iron brackets.

The bowl and the neckguard are made of polished steel. all the other pieces are made of brass.

See one original helmet. Have a look at Picturesle painting, showing a prussian charge E. Picturesle

HL603 - German infantry helmet, 1918 type - 89€

The main difference between the 1918 type and the 1916 one is the shape of the bowl, with place for the ears. He was called a telephonist helmet, but was in fact much more widespread.

Another difference concern the chinstraps : they are fixed to the padding, and not to the helmet, thus avoiding injuries from direct hits on the bowl.
