Bronze corinthian helmet

The corinthian helmet was weared by the greek warriors from the 6th cent BC on until the 4th, and is probably the most emblematic helmet of the greek era. With its crests, used to highen the fighter and make him look more fierce, you have here a beautiful piece.

Made of bronze, and not brass, 1.2mm thick.

An italian copy - a samnitic one to be precise - of the classical greek attic helmet, with cheekguards equipped with hinges. Our copy is fully made of bronze, unlike the other ones which are made of brass.
1.6kg, 18x22cm.

Another evolution of the classical helmet, the chalcidian is thought to allow the warrior to ear. The attic helmets comes form this one.

This is the typical macedonian helmet, in use mostly in calvary units. The ealry roman horse legionaries also used this helmet.

Copy of a pice to be seen i Oxford, and lost in the Tigra river.

Weared by the greek, macedonian, south italy warriors from 5th cent BC to IIId cent BC.

HL116 - Phrygian hellenistic helmet, brass - 149€ - Pictures

The shape of these helmets are made after the classical phrygian hats. They were extremely popular among Alexander's armies.

This helmet has exactly the same shape than the well known phrygian hats. The cheekguards figure a bart.

A late evolution of the classical attic helmet, this hellenistic type was in wide use around the mediterannean : carthaginean, greek and roman officers used it. Cheekguards and earguards are articulated.

Made after an artefact found in the Rouray forest, this was a typical helmet for rich warriors.

The wide flange comes from the greek beotian helmet.

Dated from the 1st century BC, this most classical Port helment is an example of the celtic craftmanship. This shape was adopted by the roman armies a few years later, to become the Weisenau helmets series, also called imperial gallic helmets.

Heigth 32cm, basis diameter 20cm. A screw is needed to fix the axis on the basis. You may use another one for the top, but it is usually not needed. Screws come along with the stand.
