SW500 - Mameluck saber - 250€

During the egypt campaign, Bonaparte's soldiers were deeply impressed by the Mameluck's scimitars. A lot of them chose to use these deadly blades instead of their ones. Light cavalry officers were especially found of such "eastern blades", which were even produced by imperial arms manufactures, as it was the case for the one we present. The shape of the hilt is typical, the eyepiece was used to fix a cord, and the blade is marked as a Klingenthal one.

SW551 - Hussard's officer saber, central Europe - 270€

Coming from Serbia, the Hussards were elite light cavalry. This saber was made after the hungarian general Andreas Graf Hadik's one(1710 - 1790). With 5000 men, most of them being hussard, he made a succesful rush for Berlin during the 7 years war. He was made thereafter Marechal by the Hasburgs, as is written on the blade.

the general shape of this weapon was copied a lot, and the most famous Chasseur de la Garde one gets back from it. The hightly decorated scabbard is perfecly fitting for a high ranking napoleonic light cavalry officer.

SW489 - Court sword - 250€

During the XVIIIth century, most officers took the habit to use a special kind of sword when being of duty. With three sides blades, these swords were less encumbering, nevertheless usable, and were called "Court Swords". Our copy is a typical one.

The hilt is made of silvered metal, the blade has three sides, the scabbard is made of wood, covered in leather, with silvered brackets. Length : 96 cm

SW497 - Imperial guard Horse Grenadier saber - 250€

The "Gardes du Directoire" become in 1797 the "Horse Grenadiers". They join in the Imperial Guard in 1804. Their uniform is almost the same than the Foot Grenadiers, with their typical fur hat.
They are provided with a new saber in 1802-1803 (An XI kind), made by the Versaille factory, a grenade decorating the hilt. The scabbard, openened on the sides to show the black leather covered shaft, is also well known. It was used until 1810. The officers had a more decorated hilt, ad the one shown on our copy.

SW490 - Light Horse saber - An XI - 250€

This so called "à la chasseur" saber is the An XI kind. Used by light horse and hors artillery, he awas even used after the napoeleonic empire, due to his great sucess. One of the actual french army officer sword is even a smallest version of this saber. It was made at Klingenthal's factory, its name being engreaved on the blade. Thsi weapon was used byt the famous hussard. The grip is made of wood, covered with leather.

SW491 - Light Horse saber, Imperial Guard - 250€

This weapon was made in Versaille from 1802 on, for the Imperial Guard.The blade was produced in Klingenthal, whose name is engreaved on it. With a scabbard made of wood, blackened leather and brass, this weapon is perhaps the most typical of the napoleonic era. It was used by the Chasseur à chaval, and the lancers.

SW498 - Dragoon saber - 250€

The dragoon saber is the same one than the saber used by cuirassiers, the only difference being the scabbard, in black leather with brass brackets, instead of iron. This is the An IX type. the blade, almost one meter long, has two parallele grooves, and the hilt provides the wearer's hand with an excellent protection. The blade was produced in Klingenthal's factory, whose name is engreaved on it.

SW492 - Heavy cavalry saber - An XIII type - 250€

From 1801 on, Klingenthal's factory make a new saber, the an IX type. He is sligthly modified some years later, and become the An XIII type. He was used by cuirassiers and carabaniers (and until 1806-1807, by the guard's gendarmerie). The factory's name is engreaved on the blade. length : 111,5 cm

The shape of the weapon immediately remind the hollywood pirates. It was in fact the weapon of the french XIXth century navy seamen. The factory's name is engreaved on the edge (Klingenthal), and an anchor on the side.

SW553 - Russian Hussard saber- 250€

Dated from the end of the 18th century, this saber equipped the russian hussard who fougth during the napoleonic wars. It may also be used by french hussards, who used to use weapons taken from the ennemy. The design is pretty similar to the french imperial guard ligth horse saber.

Hilt made of brass, blade of steel. Grip leather covered. Scabbard : wood, leather and brass.

SW554 - 1803 Pattern British Infantry Sword (1803 -1821) - 250€

While the regular pattern 1796 Infantry straight sabre had some cut and thrust functionality to it, it was completely inadequate for the Grenadier, Light Infantry and Rifle officers of the British Army, whose duties took them away from the safety of regular Infantry line formations. In the late 1790s unofficial curved bladed Infantry sabres started popping up in regiments. These sabres came in many shapes and sizes and in 1803 the army officials took steps to standardize this weapon.

Hilt made of brass, 1050 high carbon steel blade. The grip is wrapped with black leather and wire. Scabbard : leather and brass.

SW550 - English light horse saber - 210€

The english 1796 light hors saber has a very simple hilt, and its balde has a typical shape, being larger at the end. In use in the british army, he was also used by the prussian light cavalry under Blucher, who gave finally its name to the weapon. It is known as the Blucher type.
With a blackened scabbard, it was also used by the US dragoons during the 1812 war..

SW494 - Officers mameluck type saber, english army, 1831 - 250€

With a superb design, this sabers gets back to the oriental weapons which were most favoured during the XIXth century. He was especially used by colonial armies officers.

SW525 - Scottish Dirk, regimental, 19th century - 70€


The Regimental Dirk was worn from the mid-19th century onwards. The grips of all models are of painted wood, carved in the customary basket-weave pattern. The traditional “cairngorm” on the hilt has been replaced by the royal crown. A suspension loop is provided on the scabbard.

SW602 - French cavalry saber - 1961 type - 200€

The saber is still in use in the french army, but only for ceremonial purposes. This saber, with a straigth blade, comes from the an IX napoleonic heavy cavalry type, but is much more smaller.

SW601 - French officer saber - F1 type - 200€

Coming from the napoleonic light hors saber, this smaller version is now only used by officers, for ceremonial purposes. The scabbard is made of steel, with two brass brackets for the suspension rings.

CStill used today for ceremonial purposes in the french navy, this saber gets back to 1848, when he was used for the first time. Richly decorated, it has a leather scabbard, with brass brackets.

SW552 - Russian Imperial Pattern Dragoon Sabre (Soviet markings) - 250€


This saber, without hand guard, is typical used by the legendary cosacks. It was called a Shasqua. The pattern was used at the beginning of the 20th century, but remained during the beginning of the soviet period. Our copy has the soviet markings, and is made after an 1934 original artefact.
