Greek helmets

HL101 - Late Corinthian Helmet - 500-450 BC - 120€ - Pictures

The classical greek corinthian is well known, but had a defect : the hoplite could not hear. In this later version, the problem was corrected, and our copy have holes for the ears. It is an italo-corinthian helmet.

It is the same helmet than the HL101, but equipped with a horsehair crest.

HL102 - Attic helmet - 210€ - Pictures

This piece is a copy of an italic version of the attic helmet, widespread in Itlay during de IVth and III centuries BC.

Copy made of brass, without holes for earing.


HL103 - Chalcidian helmet - 210€ - Pictures

Another evolution of the classical helmet, the chalcidian is thought to allow the warrior to ear. The attic helmets comes form this one.

HL105 - Beotian helmet - 400-100 BC - 150€ - Pictures

This is the typical macedonian helmet, in use mostly in calvary units. The ealry roman horse legionaries also used this helmet.

Copy of a pice to be seen i Oxford, and lost in the Tigra river.

HL104 - Phrygian helmet - IVth century BC- 180€ - Pictures

This helmet has exactly the same shape than the well known phrygian hats. The cheekguards figure a bart.

Gallic Helmets

HL191 - Gallic Helmet - Tène B/C - 140€ - Pictures

Dated from the IId/IIId century BC, with these three discs on the cheekguards, was one of the most used at the times

HL190 - Gallic Helmet - La Tène D - 140€ - Pictures

Made after an artefact found in the Rouray forest, this was a typical helmet for rich warriors.

The wide flange comes from the greek beotian helmet.
